Painful, Swollen Foot and Toe from Gout Walk in Medical Center Orlando

Swelling and pain of the big toe without injury can be from gout, which is an inflammation that happens from high uric acid in the body. Sometimes it can get triggered by minor trauma or twisting the foot. Usually, there is no history of injury, but the pain is too much.

Dr. Jain saw a patient who is 50 years old with pain and swelling of the left foot, and the patient denied any injury. Dr. Jain examined the patient whose foot was swollen and very tender. X-ray did not show any involvement of the bone. Dr. Jain drew blood and treated him with anti-inflammatory medicine. Dr. Jain decided to give an anti-inflammatory shot to relieve the pain faster. The patient felt better in a few hours and did fine.
