Dr. Usha Jain has worked in the emergency room of Orlando Health and treated a variety of diseases, infections, injuries and cuts.
Dr. Jain saw a patient who came with redness and swelling of the fingertip of her rt index finger. The patient was in severe pain and could not move her finger.
Dr. Jain saw her and the infection was pretty bad and ordered the x-rays which did not show the infection in the bone. The cellulitis was very bad and especially because of the fingertip which is divided by septae and cannot drain easily. Dr. Jain drew her blood and gave the injection of ceftriaxone after doing a culture. Dr. Jain also gave the oral antibiotics to take every day.
Dr. Jain opened the infected area to drain the pus and the patient felt better.
Dr. Jain gave the shot of ceftriaxone every day until she started to look better. The patient responded well to the treatment.
