We saw a 63 year old female patient in our Medical Clinic who came in for shoulder pain that she had been experiencing for 2 weeks. The patient came from Ocala, Florida. She is a snowbird from Canada. Dr. Jain examined her and ordered blood tests, X-ray of her shoulder and an EKG.
Her x-ray was normal but the EKG showed some minor T wave inversions. When it was compared to a previous EKG from Canada, there was a change.
The patient was admitted to the hospital and was found to have had a heart attack. Patient had open heart surgery and did well.
Due to proper and prompt diagnosis, she was admitted into the hospital in time to correct her heart problems. This proves that timely tests, and EKGs can do much to prevent further complications.
