We draw blood for prostate cancer blood test (PSA) at our Urgent Care Medical Center in Orlando. We have seen a patient 55 year old who came for pain in the hip joint for 5 days The patient was playing golf and thought that he sprained his hip joint but over the counter medicines didn’t work. The patient had x ray of the hip and blood was drawn for CBC, chemistry and PSA. The patient’s hip x-ray was normal and he was treated with diclofenac.
The patient returned for follow up and felt much better. The review of lab test results revealed that the patient has high PSA and he was referred to urologist to rule out cancer of the prostate. Life saver test PSA.
