Urgent Care Walk in Clinic staffed by the doctor who does physical and give a TB test required for the school physical or pre-employment physical. The TB test is read after 48 to 72 hours after it is given. A patient was seen in the clinic and TB test was given for pre-employment physical and the test turned out to be positive red and swollen more than 10 mm in size. The patient had BCG vaccine when he was child in his country and that caused TB test to be positive.
The patient will be positive of TB if they got BCG vaccine in the past. The patient who has TB positive but no history of BCG vaccine should be referred to the health department and would need to be treated for possible exposure of TB.
