Dr. Jain saw a patient who is 35 years old lady who came in with high fever, cough and congestion with headache and bodyache. The patient also gave the information that she had a Flu shot for the season.
Dr. Jain examined the patient, ordered the blood tests and chest x-ray which was normal. Flu test was done despite the fact that the patient had flu shot.
The patient had positive test despite the fact that she got the Flu shot.
Flu shot is not always effective and flu test should be done if the clinical symptoms point toward the Flu.
Flu shot is not a guaranty that you would not have flu.
