We have seen a child 2 year old with high fever and cough for 2 days. The patient was seen by our doctor who is pediatrician and emergency room doctor. The patient had blood drawn and chest x-ray was done to check for pneumonia. The patient’s chest x-ray was normal. The patient was given the injection of Rocephin and was given oral antobiotics as well. The patient responded well next day and was instructed to come back for follow up in 4 days.

High fever in children can be dangerous and should be evaluated to check for pneumonia and meningitis. The patient should be given the prompt treatment as condition of the patient can get worse. This patient had cold and congestion first 2 days.
