A 13 year old patient was seen at the Urgent care clinic in Orlando for the lump of the rt. eyelid. The patient has painful eyelid and hurts to blink the eye. The patient was seen by another MD and was given the antibiotic eye drops but the patient continued to get worse. The patient also started having the swelling of the eyelid. Dr. Jain examined her and gave her the oral antibiotic as her problem was a tissue infection of an eye lid and not the pink eye.
Stye (lump) needs the antibiotic and not the eye drops which is necessary for a pink eye.
