Urgent Care for Yeast Infections in the Mouth

A 36-year-old patient was seen for a sore throat in our Urgent Care Medical Center by Dr. Usha Jain. The patient had been taking throat lozenges throat for last few days.

The patient’s throat had redness and white spots on examination. The strep test and mono tests were negative. The patient was suspected to have yeast infection. The patient was treated with diflucan and responded well to the treatment.

The right diagnosis is critical for the right treatment.  Excessive sugar can cause yeast infection in the throat as well.
